Every season since 2008 has been a lie
Every fan cheated
Every rival club cheated
Every player cheated
Every broadcaster cheated
Sponsors, the real ones, cheated
The propriety of the league and game brought into disrepute
It's a stain not only on City, the Premier League but the whole sport
Truly seismic implications
BUT
City fan I know sent this today:
"Throw the book at us. Relegate us. We don't care. Silva, Kompany, Ferna, Aguero, KDB, Silva, Stones, Pep. It's been a blast and I think many City fans would love a crack at promotion."
He's right. We can't take away their memories. But as United fans, we know what it is to have hope be dashed again and again over two decades
That's why City should be expelled from the league, owners be forced to sell the club
City fans can enjoy the Northern Premier League for a while
United was founded as a social institution for workers. It wasn’t about billionaires or media reach and definitively not about state sponsored soft power. We’ve lost what it means to be United. The PLC and then the Glazers stole that. State ownership would be the final nail.
It is a rejection of state ownership, and especially by a state that only gives a shit about the lives of some of its inhabitants and is happy to use United to gloss over that fact.
For the record. This is not a rejection of Muslim ownership, nor of an overseas owner. Give me an owner of any faith, colour or nationality that runs the club well and doesn’t murder people and I’ll sign up.
How many dead migrant workers is it worth per trophy?
What does Qatari ownership mean for LGBTQ United fans?
Do we give a shit about the political dissidents who have disappeared?
Or the women for who being Qatari means a lifetime of inequality?
Shoya Nakajima's family travelled all the way from Japan to watch him make his home debut as a substitute for Adana Demirspor.
He was sent off after two minutes, leaving his mother and siblings looking horrified in the stands
Complete, utter embarrassment.
This is an indictment on all that is wrong at #MUFC.
Starting with the Glazers, who take money out of the club rather than invest, leading to recruitment that produces a squad not fit for purpose + no signs it will get any better.
🗞 Sources close to De Jong say that privately he is in constant dialogue with Erik Ten Hag and is willing to join him. The midfielder and his agent believe expressing a public wish to join #mufc will weaken their position regarding the money De Jong is owed. [@sbates_people]

My Dad snuck his camcorder into the Nou Camp. He didn't film any of the game, but got it out for the last 5 minutes.
This is one of the greatest things I've ever seen.
We've never shared this footage, until now...
