Visited a couple shelters in Edmonton today. Line ups down the road to access. Inside Boyle Street Community Services, a hell hole. Dozens of rows of bunk beds filled with men, women & elders. People coming and going; filthy, crowded, zero privacy. Looked like the workers were doing the best they could, but I saw the situation & understood why the people in the encampments say they don’t want to utilize these services.

Not everyone has the ability/access to check the COE’s facility notifications. Also, why were only the north side shacks closed last week?

Hey COE! Why is it that northeast & northwest green shacks had closures yesterday and today but the southeast & southwest green shacks are all open? All children, regardless of where they live in #yeg, deserve access to city recreation programs. @CityofEdmonton @Erinforanirniq
