@JasonSokol3@HassanS74069276 Reminds me of one idea I had to have Luke's lightsaber fall into the hands of Kira via the Sugi arms dealers. Who are an Underworld series thing. We know they sell kyber crystals so it'd fit.
@JasonSokol3@HassanS74069276 I'd done something similar regarding some of the more mysterious unproduced Clone Wars arcs with @DavidWadey1999 which ended up going into some of his videos about them.
@JasonSokol3@HassanS74069276 True I've also had a bunch of ideas in my head and I've noted some of them down, a lot of I've mentioned in these threads. But I've not sorted it into an entirely cohesive thing. I like having painting a broad picture of the possibilities in my head though.
@JasonSokol3@HassanS74069276 Does make me think of how Lucas wanted to play with identity a lot in Phantom Menace and even had that twist written about Qui-Gon being Obi-Wan's apprentice and him dying at Maul's hand leading to him taking his master's name to honor him.
@JasonSokol3@HassanS74069276 It's funny how I came to the same conclusion as you here. Like I thought about the Treasure Island thing and how Talon could be Silver and then the dual identity aspect which echoes Palpatine and Padme as well.
@HassanS74069276@JasonSokol3 I have thought of Jim Hawkins/Treasure Island angle with Skyler too. Obviously that book and Howard Pyle's illustrations were an inspiration. But Talon is Skyler's Long John Silver.
@HassanS74069276@JasonSokol3 I do also think that Princess Yuki from that film being used as an inspiration for Kira is interesting because one element of that character Leia didn't really adopt was the idea of the peasant disguise. Kira is royalty ala Leia but she hides it.
@HassanS74069276@JasonSokol3 It is also a bit of an inversion of The Hidden Fortress which A New Hope was partially based on. But the fortress rather than being Yavin IV's rebel base is the villains pirate base in Vader's castle.
Crazy how far we've come from the original Doug Chiang design for what would eventually become the Flarestar-class attack shuttle. All the way to live-action with the Russell Chong TCW Guillotine in TMAG!
@JasonSokol3@HassanS74069276 I think with Leia being like a Jedi Chancellor too it fits the theme. She becomes like a "philosopher queen". The polar opposite to Palpatine.
@JasonSokol3@HassanS74069276 If they wanted to they could've leaned into Talon being a Twi'lek who are victims of Hutt slavery. So there's that parallel with Anakin. And she sees Maul as someone who can help her get revenge and control over them.
@JasonSokol3@HassanS74069276 Maybe Talon sought him out like Kira did Luke. That would make a difference if she came to the Sith willingly having not been coerced.
@JasonSokol3@HassanS74069276 There is also the parallel then to Devon and Daki with Talon being found by a Jedi only for Maul to swoop and take her as his own apprentice once her master is out of the picture. But I'm not sure how much of that would be explicit in the films anyway.
@JasonSokol3@HassanS74069276 So she never had any contact with the larger Jedi Order which at the time was probably more decentralised like you said. It's less of a personal grudge for her with Luke hence why she's hunting various Jedi.
