@DukeMBB@NBASummerLeague Great game. Man Man: 19 pts/11 rebounds. DJ: 21 pts (game leader)/8 rebounds. Suns GM said Khaman has grown stronger and taller (!), that the game has really slowed down for him and he thinks sky is the limit for the 19 -year-old. LOVE to see and hear it! @khaman_maluach
The Economist's new BBQ Index tracks the prices of 10 American cookout staples across 25 cities, and this year's results are not good.
The grocery basket now costs $81, which is 12% more than a year ago and "the fastest annual increase in a decade"
Elon, I can give you many, many names of people who have died because of your aid cuts.:
*Yamah Freeman was a 23-year-old woman who died in childbirth because you stopped paying for the diesel for ambulances in her part of Liberia. I talked to her parents and sister in their village.
*Gbessey Kiadu, age 1, died of malaria because of your cuts in Liberia. I talked to his mom in her village.
*Ibrahim Koroma, an infant, died of AIDS in Sierra Leone after you interrupted HIV supplies. I talked to health workers who cared for him.
*Achol Deng was an 8-year-old girl with HIV in South Sudan who died when you cut funding for the health care worker who provided her medicines. I talked to him.
I could go on and on. In almost every village you go to in South Sudan, Uganda, Liberia, Sierra Leone or other countries I reported in, you find people dying because of aid cuts. I challenge you: Come with me on a reporting trip, and we'll talk to these moms and dads, and you'll see the dying children themselves. I think if you see the kids whose lives are at stake, maybe you'll change your mind.
@spurs@Ticketmaster@DukeMBB Maliq is a sniper on defense and an outstanding human & teammate. Going to miss him 💙 but excited to see him play at the next level.
A recently released Justice Department memo questions decades of protections for Americans with disabilities. It's the latest effort by the Trump administration to shift longstanding practices for the disability community. https://t.co/nbiWPhkIW2
We’re struggling right now.
We’ve gone back and forth about whether to share this. Asking for help never gets easier, and we’ve always tried to focus on the animals rather than the challenges happening behind the scenes.
But the truth is that right now, Life With Pigs owes more than $24,000 on our credit cards alone, and we’re feeling the weight of it.
That debt isn’t from anything out of the ordinary. It isn’t from unnecessary purchases. It’s the result of saying yes when animals needed us.
It’s veterinary bills. Medications. Diagnostics. Emergency appointments. Feed deliveries. Hay. Repairs. Building projects that couldn’t wait. The daily expenses that come with caring for so many animals who depend on us for everything.
Over the years, we’ve learned that emergencies don’t arrive one at a time. They stack up. And we’ve had one thing after the other lately.
An animal gets sick while another needs surgery. A roof starts leaking while feed prices rise. The summer heat becomes dangerous, and suddenly you’re scrambling to make sure vulnerable animals have the cooling they need to stay safe.
This past year has felt like one challenge after another.
We’ve been working to build a new barn that will provide safer shelter for the animals. We’ve faced mounting medical expenses. We’ve repaired and improved our hay barn that was no longer optional to fix. And through it all, we’ve continued doing what we’ve always done: putting the animals first.
Just this week, we said goodbye to Odin.
Like so many of the animals who have come through our lives, he reminded us that love often asks more of us than we think we can give. We would do it all again for him. We would do it all again for every animal who has needed a chance.
But that doesn’t change the reality that we’re struggling financially.
Often after the animals are sleeping and the work is finally done, we sit down and wonder how we’re going to make everything work. We worry about the bills. We worry about the debt. We worry about the next emergency that we know will eventually come.
And yet every morning, the animals still need breakfast, care, and love.
They still need medications, clean stalls, veterinary care, cooling systems, shelter, and people willing to show up for them.
So we do. And we always will.
We’re not sharing this because we’re giving up.
We’re sharing it because this sanctuary has never been built by just two people.
Every life we’ve saved, every animal who found safety here, every happy ending we’ve celebrated together happened because of a community of people who cared enough to help.
If you’ve ever smiled at Jenna, laughed at Charlotte, worried about Quincy, celebrated Huck, cried with us over Odin, or simply believed that these animals deserve a safe place to call home, we’re asking for your help.
If you’re able to donate, it would mean the world to us.
If you can’t donate, sharing this post helps more than you know.
And if you’ve supported us before, please know that every single act of kindness has helped keep this sanctuary going.
We’re exhausted and grieving.
And yes, we’re scared. So many depend on us to pull off miracles.
But we’re still here. And as long as we can, we’ll keep fighting for the animals who depend on us.
Thank you for standing with us.

“If you take the deal, you’re going to be exploited. If you don’t take it, you’re going to die,” said attorney Frank Ssekamwa about the U.S. demand to access the health data of millions of Ugandans. “It’s the essence of digital colonialism.”

A woman dies every two hours of cervical cancer in the US -- and these deaths are utterly unnecessary. HPV vaccines prevent it, and screenings catch it early when it's treatable. But we're dismantling federal support for reproductive health care programs like Title X.
Peekaboo!
Shivers has been here a while probably because she’s a shy girl.
She’s got the looks for sure 😍
She’s 5yrs old and scared of most things however we’ve seen a big improvement recently out on her walks.
Shivers needs a home with other confident steady dogs and it won’t be long before she’s absolutely fine.
She’s just got blocked here in the kennels and needs a fresh start.
Plz share 🙏🏻❤️

Barnaby is 6.5yrs old and was a longest stayer at a perrera in Toledo.
We took him out in hope to find him a home but so far we’ve not been successful.
He’s absolutely adorable, great with other dogs, good on a lead and just calm and fabulous.
