🚨Big announcement 🚨
We’ve been making award-winning podcasts about Europe for the past seven years. Now, we’re launching an experiment: a new investigative series, produced with 100% listener crowdfunding.

🇳🇱 govt. wants to strip antisemitic rioters of citizenship.
This is a dreadful idea
Citizenship is an absolute right, which politicians should not have power to take away
If you have a Dutch passport, then you’re Dutch - even if you kill the King and use his head as a hat stand.
Georgia: On top of the electoral integrity violations reported by observers, the widespread tampering in favour of the government is visible also in the detailed official results counts.
Europe Elects was independently able to reproduce the markings of fraud.

Green parties in Europe are calling for Jill Stein to withdraw.
The race for the White House is too close for comfort. We call on her to withdraw from the race & endorse Kamala Harris for President of the United States.

This week, we're joined by @AnnaGvarishvili in Tbilisi, diving into the latest on Georgia’s contested election and the pro-Russian ruling party’s grip on power. Though Georgia faces an uncertain future, we'll be sure to keep covering its European journey. https://t.co/gDPc8ExFD8
International election observers (OSCE/ODIHR, PACE, NATO, EP) will hold a press conference at 15:00 to present their findings following the parliamentary elections in Georgia. Before that, NDI and IRI will present their findings. This is now the most important aspect of these elections.
I served as US Ambassador in Hungary during Viktor Orbán’s crackdown on freedom of the press.
But the independence of the Hungarian press was only truly extinguished when news outlets began “self-censorship” to avoid political reprisal.
Democracy dies in darkness.
I was trying to think of something sparky to say about this but it’s just very sad. My generation came of age in a Europe where most of us could travel freely, live and work where we wanted. That expansive idea of Europe is fading now. Our children’s lives will be very different.
Thank you @dwnews@dw_europe@KateLaycock for having us on Inside Europe! We had a lot of fun discussing The Europeans' origin story, what being European means to us, and that time Katy tried to make Dominic sing in front of a full European Parliament.

NEW EPISODE!
This week, the idealised fantasy of the EU versus its awkward reality. @PawelZerka joins us to discuss the European Sentiment Compass (@ECF_tweets and @ecfr)
We're also joined by @dw's @KateLaycock for a special guest edition of Good Week, Bad Week!
“If you’re defending the suffering in Gaza…then I’m sorry, but you’re a sociopath.”
From my closing statement at the Gaza debate in New York tonight hosted by @OpentoDebateOrg
“High speed” trains running at 80 km/hour. Direct services from Amsterdam to London now impossible. And Eurostar in the Netherlands at risk of being scrapped altogether
A national embarrassment
Instead of obsessing over Schiphol maybe we could fix this?

Could it really be that the dutch government meant the opposite of what they publicly told the EU because no-one proofread the letter? Are they actually that incompetent?
We're back, and quite a lot has happened since we last put out an episode.
Luckily, @RymMomtaz is here to catch us up on the main developments we missed over the summer, from Ukraine to France.
+ screen time for 🇸🇪 kids & a dynamic pricing controversy🎟️

Obsessed with this old clip from Paul O’Grady I’ve just seen on TikTok when Rita Simons off EastEnders was his headline guest… and Taylor Swift is just there
