The funeral will take place tomorrow of Dr Gary McCausland who helped probably 100s of NI start-ups. He just taken on a new role in InvestNI to lead on the startup incubation programme. He was a man of many parts who started his working life at Factory Records.
“Free Speech” advocates have typically accepted that one key exception to that freedom exists: inciting violence. It seems clear from Elon Musk’s flurry of posts that he does not accept that restriction. His free speech absolutism extends even to violent incitement.
So very proud of our city today.
We came together in our thousands to say no to racists and fascists, in solidarity with minority communities and ready to do the hard work for change.

We have freedom of speech in the UK; it's written into our law in the 1998 Human Rigts Act. But rights come with responsibilities (I appreciate that's a concept you're not familiar with); there's a requirement not to incite criminality or spread hatred online. We find society works better that way.
