Donald Trump has selected Charles Kushner—a disgraced real estate developer and Jared Kushner’s father—as U.S. Ambassador to France.

Kushner, who served 14 months in federal prison after his 2005 conviction for tax evasion, illegal campaign contributions, and witness tampering, was pardoned by Trump in 2020. Following his pardon, Kushner became a significant donor to Trump's campaign.
