@FredPawle That is those birds which survive being hit by vehicles on roads, predated by invasive/feral species, baits/poisons recklessly administered for all sorts of reasons & destruction of 90% of bird habitats since the 1950s.
What’s left would be hard pressed finding a wind turbine
@Katherine_deves Elect Conservatives for 20 out of the last 26 years & of course people are worse off, except of course the very wealthiest who have done very well in the last 25 years, which is what the intentions of the Conservatives was along along.
Party over for you now ?
Sorry/not sorry🤣
Glorification? There was zero glory in my addiction. It was truly the most excruciatingly humiliating and degrading experience you could possibly imagine. I wanted to commit suicide almost daliy, but didn’t have the courage for even that. Instead I’d reach for the pipe or the bottle. The cowards way out. The guilt. The shame. The hurt. The absolute misery of it. Yet here I am. And I am not alone. There are millions upon millions of us. We don’t all agree on politics or people or who we root for on Sunday. But we all have the shared experience of walking through that fire and surviving. I chose to live. That’s not a joke.
The Iranian navy, which has been destroyed eight times, has apparently closed the Strait of Hormuz again, because the United States, for the seventh time, won the war that wasn’t a war, so now the United States has to open the Strait of Hormuz that was already open before the not-war began.
The not-war began because Iran had uranium that was totally, completely, beautifully obliterated, so they can’t build the nuclear bomb they weren’t building, which is why the United States had to start the not-war it definitely didn’t start.
Now the United States, which has nuclear weapons, is threatening to use nuclear weapons to stop Iran from getting nuclear weapons, because nuclear weapons are far too dangerous for countries with nuclear weapons to allow other countries to have.
If the United States saw the United States doing what the United States does in other countries, the United States would invade the United States to liberate the United States from the tyranny of the United States.
Compare the pair.
Anthony Albanese and Pauline Hanson both entered federal politics in 1996.
Same year.
Same country.
Same broad opportunity to leave a mark.
Nearly 30 years later, here’s the comparison.
Pauline Hanson:
Bills originated and passed into law: zero.
Her great parliamentary hits include:
• a failed COVID vaccination bill
• a failed burqa ban
• a failed immigration plebiscite
• endless motions, stunts and tantrums that generate headlines and but no actual law
Her own political legacy is mostly framed around:
• blocking other people’s legislation
• forcing inquiries
• leveraging crossbench numbers
• complaining loudly enough that the media mistakes volume for achievement
Parliamentary attendance rate: 53%.
Which does raise the question if Pauline attended parliament a bit more often, might she have actually managed to get something done beyond scowling at modernity?
Anthony Albanese:
Bills passed into law in government include...
• legislating the 43% emissions reduction target
• 10 days paid domestic violence leave
• cheaper childcare through a higher subsidy cap
• energy price caps on gas and coal
• household energy bill relief
• establishing the National Anti-Corruption Commission
• the Help to Buy shared equity housing scheme
• banning foreign purchases of existing homes
• wiping billions in student debt
• full school funding reform
• RBA reform
• the under-16 social media ban
• the Future Made in Australia manufacturing package
• criminalising wage theft
• lifting minimum wages for the lowest paid
• delivering two consecutive budget surpluses
• EV fringe benefits tax exemptions
• aged care pay rises
• support for nurse and midwife wage rises
• legislated super on paid parental leave
Parliamentary attendance rate: 83%.
And that’s as the Prime Minister, with international travel, diplomatic obligations, cabinet management, legislation, party discipline, question time, and the small inconvenience of actually running the country.
Compare the pair.
One has spent decades in politics and can point to a list of legislation, reforms and institutional changes.
The other has spent decades in politics and can point to a list of grievances, failed bills, lost crusades and media appearances.
One knows how to govern.
The other knows how to linger.
One built policy.
The other built a brand.
One passed laws.
The other passed through parliament just often enough to remind us she’s still there.
Same starting line.
Nearly 30 years later.
One of them knows how to run the country.
The other knows how to run a permanent one-person protest stall inside it.
Compare the pair.
General advice only.
Please consider your personal circumstances before mistaking noise for achievement.
I gotta level with you folks,
My dad's 1967 Corvette Stingray was a wedding gift from my grandfather.
Just like Melania was a wedding gift to Trump from Jeffery Epstein
WTF timeline are we on. Someone called me the MAGA whisperer and I’ll gladly take the title. Left, right, D or R we all want the same things. We’re being divided on purpose by the Epstein Elite Oligarch class because as long as we’re at each other’s throats, they get fat and rich off of our misery. The second we figure out we agree on more than we disagree, they’re done. Love your neighbor. Be yourself. Radical honesty. No fucks given, no fucks taken. Everything else is just noise. (But still fuck Jake “Brick Tamland” Tapper on any time line)
@bowtiedstocks migration post WW2 driven by ‘yellow peril’ & ‘populate or perish’
Old man wouldn’t get in today, welcomed with open arms in 1952
Mediterranean skin so he was never regarded as white
Anyway, bit late for buyer’s remorse now.
Remigration will strip the country of its wealthiest😉
A combination of market factors, policies & innovation are supporting the uptake of EVs globally
Recent declines in battery prices have helped make electric cars more affordable, while higher-voltage batteries are paving the way for faster charging

@SoundDobad I know this may sound petty, but I can’t stand it when people put photoshop a meth pipe in my mouth. A crack pipe doesn’t have that little bowl at the end. This is why we can’t trust AI. Please make the appropriate edit. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
They let me inside Parliament House for four days.
I came home with a piccolo dependency, a renewed contempt for the Liberal Party, and a quiet, inconvenient sense of optimism.
Only one of those is treatable.

Things most Americans agree on:
Groceries cost too much.
Tariffs suck and make no sense.
Congress and Presidents shouldn’t trade stocks.
The debt is a mess.
The border should be secure, but legal immigration is good.
Endless wars are stupid, especially ones that nobody wants and have never been explained.
Americans are exhausted.
AI is like my new best friend that also might be trying to take my job, my ability to think for myself, and my humanity in the process. Yo like I love you, but WTF, but I still love you.
Diversity is actually awesome! The opposite is boring AF.
Canadians are super fucking cool.
Mexicans are chill.
Putin isn’t a good guy looking out for America’s best interest. Rocky IV and Miracle are great movies.
Good neighbors are a blessing.
Freedom of religion and coexistence without having to blow each other up is probably a good idea.
We all question, are we alone in the universe?
We all fuck up along the way.
Epstein didn’t hang himself.
The Trumps and Epstein were best friends for decades. It’s like Bert trying to tell us Ernie was just an acquaintance in the same social scene on Sesame Street back in the day.
The Cowboys suck. Go Birds!
Things we’re told to fight about:
Me.
Laptop.
Vaccines.
Transgenders in sports.
Pronouns.
That’s the joke.
@0bservationism Absolute bollocks.
I live in Melbs Eastern suburbs & travel for work often in Country Vic & country towns are brilliant with excellent accomodation, shops etc & in many cases dining is better & cheaper than the city.
The country is literally now one big suburb
Vics are top people
