so let's say the trenches on SOL were completely cooked, what happens next? 🤔

the question is, where does it go?

to start, I don't think SOL memecoins are completely dead, and it has solidified itself as "the casino" even with all the mass extraction recently

but for the sake of playing both sides, WHAT IF Solana is done?

1) NFTs

there wasn't really true buyer demand for new projects on Abstract or Berachain, so buying secondary on new projects still isn't the move due to high selling pressure

there is an issue buying established NFTs, many of which have already deployed tokens and are also down 90%, while Opensea just launched Blur v2 to incentivize farming (we all know how Blur went)

what is it going to take for the masses to actually come back and make NFTs worth holding again?

I know many people are waiting for NFTs to come back, not sure where they go from here

2) memecoins on BNB or AVAX

there were two really solid presales on AVAX which did insanely well, assuming due to support from AVAX

for some reason BNB doesn't want to support memecoins on their chain, having listed all 3 $BROCCOLI tokens on Binance alpha

the issue here is, there is still a lack of inflows into BNB or AVAX compared to SOL (according to Debridge), but not saying that can't shift if more opportunity pops up

we saw Tron try to push memecoins 4 months ago, but it was shortlived and only last about a month

with that said, I'll be keeping an eye on other chains, especially AVAX

3) AI Tokens

I think this is likely where most of the money will flow in terms of alts, and we saw the first life of this on SOL when there was a full on AI bull run

two of the top AI infra tokens on SOL, $ARC and $AI16Z, are still holding relatively well and I can see tokens with stacked Githubs and devs continuing to grow over time

this falls under the category of "betting on AI tech in crypto" and I don't consider these memecoins at all

the best tech will catch bids, and all the larp shit won't

4) Bitcoin

BTC dominance has been crushing it this cycle, while ETH has underperformed and SOL has been a mass extraction casino

I think people have gotten rinsed so hard that many are just saying "well I'll just hold the one crypto asset which is relatively safe"

we haven't even really seen much of an altcoin run in the past year, with most alts just bleeding

is this the first cycle where we don't get a real alt season because there are too many tokens and not enough liquidity?

I doubt that's the case, but there is definitely fatigue in the market and people may just be choosing to stack Bitcoin

overall, from my perspective this cycle has been great because I was heavily invested into SOL and managed to make some insane trades in the trenches over the past year

with that being said, I understand how extractive SOL has been and that the culture has diminished over the past few months

I still think memecoins on SOL will continue to provide opportunity, but I also think people have become burnt out from the fact that you can't hold anything for more than 2 seconds anymore

every cycle we have these moment where people say "it's over" but I don't think it's over... yet

this has been going on for years and there are no consequences

maturing in crypto is realizing the game is widely manipulated with insiders

if you want to make money, go figure out how to give yourself an edge
