Bear down: Chicago is finalizing a deal to hire Lions offensive coordinator Ben Johnson as its next head coach, sources tell ESPN. Bears are getting their man.
The only thing that frustrates me about Heisman discourse is how bad faith it was at the end. There were two candidates who probably win 7-8 of the last 10 Heisman, and we should be celebrating how strong they were, not trying to diminish either.
The reality is there were two deserving Heisman’s this season and the award could only go to one.
Travis Hunter & Ashton Jeanty both had incredible years and it could have gone to either player. A special season in CFB when the two top candidates were non-QB’s!
Nick Saban on ESPN: "If we don't take strength of schedule into consideration, is there any benefit to scheduling really good teams in the future. Here at Alabama, we're supposed to play Notre Dame, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Florida State in the future outside the league. Those are great games for fans to see, and that's what I think we should be doing in college football is creating more good inventory for great games that people are interested in, but do you enhance people wanting to do that -- what's the athletic director going to do? He may go cancel all those games now, knowing the SEC is tough enough."
Were the Giants, Titans or Raiders contending for the Super Bowl (let alone the playoffs) this year?
The Eagles, Ravens & Packers acquiring and paying Top 5 RB’s to help push for a Lombardi makes sense. Non-contending teams shouldn’t spend money on the position like that imo.
The previous employers of Saquon Barkley, Derrick Henry and Josh Jacobs surveyed the landscape and decided not to prioritize keeping alpha RBs. Now they rank 1-2-3 among NFL rushing leaders for teams that collectively are 24-9. The teams that let them walk are a collective 7-26.
Hate to be putting out this kind of life update: Tuesday was my last day with KSL Sports after being caught up in company-wide layoffs.
