@nosferatu9719@jhallito Argue it all you want. But I’d be more nervous if my teams defenses faced were in the bottom left quadrant AND my ppg was 7 points lower. But to each their own.
@nosferatu9719@jhallito The defenses we’ve played are statistically above average, however small the margin. That can’t be classified as “not good.” Also mizzou didn’t drop 40, points we did. And that was without have starting field position be the Kansas 12, 14, and 34 yard line like mizzou did.
@nosferatu9719@jhallito We’re saying we’ve done well offensively defense, and your pushback is to say that 13th ranked Missouri almost scored as much as we did vs Kansas ? We are scoring over 40 ppg (that’s a lot) against not bad defenses. It just is what it is.
@JNJR@GlassOfBennett@Crazzmatazzy I agree. Definitely would rather a team be forced to up the run because it’s not working and have to attempt to throw almost 40 times. Sure we will give up more passing yards, but that stops working as well once they aren’t between the 20s
@sjadjab2427@BartleKSLsports 51% completion on almost 40 attempts. Yes wallet then connect in too many deep shots, but this felt more like the Utah st game from 2024 where Barnes was just chucking it and getting some fortunate catches. We’ll be fine.
@DakotaCanales@GlassOfBennett We were a final 3 minutes of the 2nd quarter away from winning this game 41-14. Players had their errors, but coaches also went through a great learning experience of managing the middle 8. And all while still winning by 17
@JolliestUte Definitely a lot of #1. Devs had as many or more carries than wayshawn 3/5 games so far. I’m ok if they want to load manage, but do it with another rb, keep dev healthy
On offense, only concern is Dampier running too much. Want him staying healthy, through 5 games he’s had as many or more carries than Wayshawn 3 times.
On Defense, run d is nails. Secondary has shah, odum, and Scalley, they’ll fix things. This game will be the anomaly.
Some thoughts in the Kansas game.
Ricky Johnson marks the third different wr/te to have a 100 yard game this season.
Don’t think we’ve had three separate guys hit the 100 receiving mark in the same season for a few years; let alone through only 5 games
Not Dampiers best game, but still walked out of there with a 76% completion rate and 3 passing tds.
Wayshawn has shown the last two weeks that when you need someone to make something happen, he’s the guy, either running or catching.
@Utesfan4evers Totally agree. If they can throw, but can’t ever get the run game going, you’ll have games like yesterday where multiple drives die in the redzone.
@TuskedUp Oh that’s brilliant. I tried for a couple days to come up with something and finally just bagged it and ordered one without a custom message.
