David Montgomery wrote a long goodbye message to Lions fans.
"It's hard to find the right words for a goodbye like this," he wrote on Instagram.
"Detroit has never just been a location to me – it's been a community. And you all have been more than supporters or a team. You've been steady hands, loud cheers, honest feedback, and quiet strength when I needed it most."

The remains of U.S. Army Air Forces 1st Lt. Joe A. De Jarnette of Fort Thomas, KY, were interred on April 26, 2025. He was killed in action April 8, 1944, at age 24, after the B-24H “Liberator,” he was flying was shot down over Brunswick, Germany.
