Literally the best thing that has happened to me this year was getting to know and learn you all over again – not just as my classmate back then, but as your lover.

Every now and then, I learn something new about you, and I get so excited and intrigued by how much more there +

I've learned that people with impossibly high internal standards essentially want to surprise themselves with their own abilities.
It's impossible. Anything that you work hard towards for long enough will eventually become mundane. Hate to say it, but that IS the badge of honor.

unlearn shame. all forms of shame: unemployment, illness, vulnerability, longing, desire, errors, failures. you do not need to feel ashamed of what you are experiencing or living. freedom and shame cannot coexist.

maybe it'll help someone out there but the best lesson I learned in my 20s was to surround myself with great friends who weren't afraid of confrontation & being upfront with how they felt and open-minded in those hard conversations. dealing with indirect people who refuse to address problems directly and yet still talk about the issue behind your back to others will be a big source of anxiety & the pit in your stomach regarding friendships. there's a lot of wonderful people out there, but you absolutely do have to look ✨

i am begging some of you to become ok with hearing not-so-great-things about yourself. especially if it is coming from a loved one that historically respects your agency. chances are you unknowingly crossed a boundary & someone is trying to tell you in a respectful way.
