@rstreets01@vad3rt3sla Recalibrating as a troubleshooting step makes sense when you’re having problems, but presenting it as something everyone should do after every update isn’t backed by Tesla’s guidance or any widespread evidence.
@rstreets01@vad3rt3sla The fact that some people complain about FSD or Autopilot online doesn’t prove calibration is the cause those issues can stem from software regressions, poor road markings, weather, dirty cameras, alignment, suspension wear, or simple user perception.
@rstreets01@vad3rt3sla Three times on one car is an anecdote, not evidence that it’s ‘pretty damn common.’ If software updates routinely corrupted camera calibration, Tesla would automatically require recalibration after every update instead of leaving existing calibrations intact.
@rstreets01@Jofus_Malone89@vad3rt3sla Recalibration isn’t an “optimization” it’s a reset. If your cameras are already calibrated correctly, there’s usually nothing to gain by recalibrating them.
@Jofus_Malone89@vad3rt3sla while it’s generally safe, you’re simply replacing a working calibration with a new one. Tesla doesn’t recommend recalibrating after every software update, which suggests the existing calibration is expected to remain valid unless something has changed.
@rstreets01@vad3rt3sla I think that’s overstating it a bit. Camera calibration data can occasionally become invalid after a software update, but it’s not common enough that every Tesla owner should recalibrate after every update. If it were, Tesla would automatically require it.
@spleck@Tesla@elonmusk@aelluswamy Would you rather them give a timeline and be late again or just stay silent until they know for sure? Maybe they’ve realized their timelines can be a bit optimistic and are trying to elude false hope and expectations?
@vad3rt3sla You should consider recalibrating if:
The car consistently drives off-center in its lane, FSD or Autopilot starts behaving noticeably worse after the update, You recently had a windshield replacement, camera service, suspension work, or a wheel alignment, or the car prompts you.
@vad3rt3sla Don’t recalibrate the cameras just because of the update. Tesla software updates are designed to keep the existing camera calibration when it’s still valid.
@Volcom I wore these chino pants all through high school and always thought it would be cool to get the logo on the back tatted and I finally did it! Can I get sponsored now? Or at least some free pants to match my new ink? lol🤘
The Hybrid Air Vehicles Airlander 10, initially known as the HAV 304, is a hybrid airship crafted by the British company Hybrid Air Vehicles (HAV). This unique aircraft features a helium airship structure along with supplementary wing and tail components. It utilizes a combination of aerostatic and aerodynamic lift principles for flight and is driven by four ducted propellers powered by diesel engines.
