@DaliaHasanMD@TMS_Japan It’s bizarre that masking by patients and care providers is controversial in some countries. Masking is (almost?) 100% at hospitals, clinics, etc., in Japan.
Wild that healthcare workers wearing masks around sick people is now considered controversial.
Protecting people isn’t politics... it’s professionalism.
Happy birthday to Margaret Atwood, born on this day in Ottawa in 1939!
One of our greatest writers, she has written 18 books of poetry, 18 novels, 11 books of nonfiction and nine short story collections. She has won the Governor General's Award twice and has 27 honorary degrees.
Why isn't the focus on improving the homeland of all the countries that " migrants" are fleeing from? Let's fix their situations there instead of destabilizing other countries with mass migration both legal and especially illegal. Why doesn't the Pope speak to this? Peace is found with Justice at home.
I urge Heads of State and the leaders of nations to listen to the cry of the poorest. There can be no peace without justice. The poor remind us of this in many ways, through migration as well as through their cries, which are often stifled by the myth of well-being and progress, which does not take everyone into account.
John is in hospital in trouble. His relentlessly optimistic, life affirming posts in the face of huge challenges are a daily inspiration. Please give him a follow and a kind word.
@broadwaybabyto For what it's worth, this is not a sign of our times, it's not new at all. Over many years I have worked with and chaired multiple county food drives and it's always the same - pushback from those who'd rather see everyone go without than risk one "undeserving" person be fed.
