Oh I wasn't aware we didn't have the reading comprehension to realize the words "Allegory for [thing]" means "Not literally [thing] but something that is supposed to resonate with [thing]" my bad.
Any time you have a situation where a boy hurts a girl by removing her consent to a situation - it will resonate with people who have experienced SA. That just makes sense. Do I think it’s a deliberate allegory? No. Do I think you could feel it as such? Absolutely.
#whaspoilers This poor person is getting eaten alive but when I read this in the manga my first thought was ‘woah - that is a serious and overt violation of coco’s consent’. Tartah being disabled/oppressed doesn’t mean he can’t commit wrongs that evoke similar emotions to SA.
and so, when coco goes against him, he responds the way other witch men responded to similar defiance from women: using power. he doesn't understand why coco is upset bc, to him, this is j how female/male relationships work. and i think it's absolutely an allegory for cocsa+
Neurodivergent teenagers grow up to be neurodivergent adults. Neurodivergent conditions are disabilities so they often lead more support than the average adult. You can't overcome a disability by 'growing up'.
