Can we talk about how Kim Da Mi’s eyes softly carries so much grief in Nine Puzzles? You can tell there’s something odd about her demeanor, subtle enough to ignore but distinct enough to make you wonder. You can sense something isn’t right, but whatever it is, she carries it so well behind the mask of random smiles and impassiveness.
It’s almost as if every single time, she’s at the brink of exploding into tears. As though the grief she bottles daily, and does so easily as breathing, suffocates her. But I say “so easily”, even when I know there’s nothing easy about having your neck in the grasp of grief, trying to play pretend like it doesn’t make your head feel unbearably heavy as you try to carry on like everything is fine.
I’m really enjoying her portrayal of Yun Ina.
sukku: so, when i see dami... people often ask me what i have done and with whom. when i say i did it with dami, they ask me what she is like. then, i always tell them that dami has a country vibe.
jaesuk: why?
sukku: she is down-to-earth with no pretensions.
jaesuk: that's true.
