Please whoever is reading this right now, know that nothing shall be impossible for you because nothing actually is. I'll remind myself of this tweet again... 😇
When a Christian Actually Knew the Bible.
I just watched that clip of the aerospace engineering student questioning Charlie Kirk, and wow it was the smartest question anyone has asked him in a long time.
The student wasn't attacking faith. He was defending it. He basically said: The early church didn't try to take over Rome, they tried to live like Jesus _inside_ Rome. So how do we reconcile Christian Nationalism this idea of fusing political power with Christian identity with that?
Charlie's answer was classic Charlie. He went straight to the Old Testament Joseph advising Pharaoh, Daniel in Babylon, David as King. And yes, that's in the Bible.
But here's my take, and this is where the student was 100% right:
The Old Testament is full of theocracies and prophets advising kings. The NEW Testament, the part Christians claim to follow after Christ, is completely different. Jesus literally said "My kingdom is not of this world." Paul wrote letters under a pagan empire and never once said "take over the Senate." The early Christians were persecuted because they _refused_ to make Caesar their Lord.
That's the disconnect.
Faith SHOULD inform politics. If you are a Christian, your values will absolutely affect how you vote, how you serve, how you treat people. That's civic responsibility.
But when you flip it when politics starts informing your faith, when you need political power to feel like your faith is valid you've lost the plot. You've turned a cross into a flagpole.
The student understood something Charlie missed. Christianity was never meant to be the government. It was meant to be the conscience OF the government.
What do you guys think? Should faith shape politics, or should politics stay out of faith?
I absolutely love recognizing just how sane the Christian faith keeps me. That random, loud realization that my faith in Christ helps me navigate this ever-changing world.
You can see how people who caught witches story came about…a lot to learn from this clip…Christ is the explanation of all things…in him we now have the fullness of God. No more darkness but our eyes are flooded with light to know all truths.🤝❤️🗣️
The few reasons I think you are rattled by what Apostle Gideon says might be because you're still new in ministry, seeking validation from pfn, or you're not sure of 'your doctrine'.
Whether he cancel anybody is irrelevant. That has always been his stock in trade. I remember when he was hell-bent on attacking Dr. Abel Damina every week in his sermons. What's up today?
He fizzled out with time. And the Dr. has been waxing strong in his ministry since then. He's not even part of any PFN or CAN whatever. He's only interested in teaching and preaching Christ + nothing.
As long as I'm concerned he's only relevant to the flock God has given him. Apostle Gideon is known for calling people names. And that's why you have a few of his disciples constituting nuisance on X.
The doctrine of Christ is the doctrine of the father and the son. It is the doctrine that God came in the flesh, he died for our sins, he was buried, and on the third day, he rose again, and shall appear and be glorified in his church at the end.
That's actually what binds us all together. That's actually the core foundation of the gospel and ministry. Any other disagreements is subjective and according to one's level of knowledge.
But calling people names and cancelling them and saying they're going to hell is foolishness and ignorance. Some believe in eternal salvation and some in salvation that can be lost.
Which ever school you belong to, make sure that your purpose of doing ministry is to get unbelievers saved, and establishing them. That's actually the master's command upon his resurrection. Selah
