You know, that might be something country specific, or just the guy's opinion. I'm not sure. Mine is quite usable for in store and online purchase. I added mine to my Apple Wallet and have used it just like a debit card in stores no problem. No ability to transfer the currency to a bank account, Venmo, PayPal, etc., no ATM withdrawals, no ability to use at a gas pump. So, it is limited in it's use but for all intents and purposes it is a cool grand at your disposal.
