@ripjetson9 Just went and personally looked at the 3000 lb race car that barrel rolled down the backstretch at Kansas motor speedway and not a cracked tube anywhere. Yes it’s bent and mangled but that’s wha you want. I say again we should look at mild steel for sprint car chassis.
How dominant has @JRMotorsports been in the @NASCAROReillyAP Series?
JRM has won 29 of the last 50 races, 58%.
JRM has had at least 1 car finish in the top-10 in each of those races.
Last time a JRM car failed to lead a lap was Spring Atlanta last year.

@ripjetson9 Think we need to move past the “that’s the way we’ve always done it” mentality. Problem would be needing a heavier wall thickness,so it wouldn’t be competitive with chrome moly chassis, so you would have to make it mandatory across the board. Would be a cost savings in long run.

@ericg78@ripjetson9 Whole car should be. More likely to bend and distort rather than break. How many chrome moly tubes have you seen that shear about a 1/2 inch from the weld? More of a heat issue than a filler issue.
