Had a chat with someone very close to the "powers that be" on a certain social media platform and he confirmed something I'd suspected for a long time.
That is, pretty much all major social platforms are investing insane amounts of engineering into detecting, grading and penalising ANYTHING that even remotely identifies as non-human input.
All your shitty hooks. All the lame attempts to break up sentences into one liners. It's all getting pattern recognition sinkhole'd like you wouldn't believe.
It makes sense when you think about it. Why wouldn't they. Which ever platform generates the most human input wins.
I guess the only surprising thing besides learning how much they actually track this, is how subtle their penalisation will be.
They're not going to pop a flag up on your UI telling you what's happening to your reach - that would be stupid. Rather, they'll just slowly choke you out.
@rcmisk@thekitze so, wait a sec ... @levelsio is saying we need people to be honest, tell the truth, share their opinion freely, not hold back for fear of upsetting .... but then he in also blocking people who disagree with him ... huh?
