This is an absolutely mental idea for any level of cricket other than the very highest (where it is also a mad idea). Even I would average about 5 with the ball with an extra inch of stumps to hit
In 1931, due to the dominance of batters over bowlers, the wicket was enlarged from 8 inches to 9 inches wide and the stump height increased from 27 to 28 inches.
Around the world, by and large, the bat is dominating the ball. Is it time to increase the size of the wicket again?
For context, in 1798, stumps were only 24 inches tall. They increased to 26 inches in 1819 and to 27 inches in 1823.
@finanskamelen I don't understand what your point is! Why do you care whether or not Visma are any good when you obviously don't like them?
It's a cyclical sport - teams can't stay the best forever. Once upon a time it was Sky/Saxo/USPS/La Vie Claire. Teams will always get better or worse

@Na1chaca Weirdly think Uran with Sky support could have beaten Froome on Cannondale in 2017. Peyragudes stage Froome could have lost minutes if anybody had taken a risk and upped the tempo. Tour could have been won that day given how close they were across the other climbs
@Na1chaca@Vandefilm@arthurdercu Definitely stronger, also knew how to ride to win. E.g. Alpe stage Postal rode a really aggressive lead out at the bottom of the climb. Armstrong didn't even gain time from GC group but helped drop Ulrich at the bottom. Bianchi had numbers on Peyresourde and rode too defensively
@marc31400@NairoInGreen Good not great with an amazing ending I'd say! Jumbo were super dominant once Roglic took yellow which rather killed the race. Remember feeling at the time that it felt rather like a Sky-era Tour, pretty close but in control. TT was obviously amazing but miles off 2019 as a whole
@kalen_wwfc@Jfinn_88@matchdayben To be fair he did actually play left back for pretty much the whole first half of the season, Odoi played there a couple of times and Soares maybe a little bit as well, but wasn't until Targett joined that Sess actually just played on the wing
@RedMan6_19@Zonal_Marking I think this is the issue the rest of us have though. Why should we change the national system to benefit a couple of teams who might get to the latter rounds of European competitions. Doesn't matter to me as a Fulham fan if Liverpool or Arsenal lose to PSG in the CL
@nickcricket@BlueEarthMngmnt Wasn't that a year later? McCullum's first game vs NZ at Lords was the first test of the summer. Ireland at Lords was the warmup for 2023 Ashes
