@tvheidihatch@bikelakecity@WVCPD I think it illustrates your bias. I often drive at night too and I don’t think cyclists/peds, the most vulnerable ppl on the street, are being irresponsible. Most are aware of how dangerous roads are and act accordingly. Blaming them when they get hit is unfair.
@tvheidihatch@bikelakecity@WVCPD “Driving home at 11pm in Salt Lake City is a white knuckle drive every night of the week with scooters, bicyclists and people walking across the street in all black clothing against the lights” is weird to say in context of innocent cyclist getting hit in full daylight by driver
@GWHayduke97@loganb@tracewoodgrains What about agency/autonomy/freedom of people who want to ride a bike or walk to get from A to B without significant risk of being killed by a human driver?
@GWHayduke97 I fully support banning human drivers but I think 50% of cars being self-driven + strict enforcement of traffic laws + general increase and improvement in e-mobility devices will give us most of the benefits with little cost
@Dalrymple@slcmoves I once wrote them asking why they have beg buttons at 2100/highland and also got a condescending response about why beg buttons are super crucial lol
