It was victory for team CH in the regional round of the @EthicsCup! π
We were delighted to host the tournament and welcome two distinguished guest judges, Stephen Law from Oxford Uni and Raanan Gillon OB, former editor of the Journal of Medical Ethics.
We're excited to finally announce our
π’ National Student Voice Awards Winners π’
Our judges were blown away by all of the amazing work from schools & students alike, making choosing winners extremely difficult!

π Tai'bat π
Tai'Bat has spoken up about school traditions that have excluded women. She is active in the Muslim Student Association and the African-Caribbean Society and has used this platform to speak out about Islamophobia and discrimination against Black women.
π Kobi π
Kobi founded the Muslim Students Association after finding it lonely as a revert in a family community. He noticed a gap in provision and wanted to fill it, to make school a place where it's easier to practice their religion.
π Cossie π
Cossie's teachers wrote that they have been instrumental in helping school leaders develop the process for trans or questioning pupils in school - advocating for those who wish to change pronouns or uniform. That's not all though β¬οΈ
π Vieran π
Vieran has started the Young Carer's Society this year. This began a campaign to create a more open culture in school, especially for junior pupils who may not know how to access the support they need.
New paper by the esteemed @dan_calder and myself in @PhiMiSci reviewing some of the biggest objections to the structural representation account. Hopefully something of value in there for the rep debate more generally too!

When I decided to pursue a career in teaching, rather than academia, I always hoped to publish the occasional paper. 5 years in, here we are. A massive thanks to coauthor @Jonny_CW_Lee for his endless patience.

Good article in todays @thetimes. Highlights just how far ahead @CHSchoolHorsham is on bursary spending for pupils from low income households. Such a special place of which to be part. Leading the way in social mobility.
Do we all see the same thing? This study by academics @SussexUni and @UofGlasgow on the way you see the world is fascinating to take part in. You can test yourself on all sorts of extraordinary tasks. Fun to do and important research. @anilkseth https://t.co/49ih2OJpfm
We are delighted that three of our pupils have won Student Voice Awards!
Keighley (GR/Year 13) was the overall student winner, while Maddie (DG/Year 12) was runner-up & Max (GR/Year 13) was highly commended! π

They worked extremely hard in preparation and really impressed the judges, only narrowly missing out on first place. More here:
