This year my house has been hit by an A-Level and GCSE double whammy - my son who is doing GCSEs had to sit 26 exams in little over a month.

It’s unnecessary pressure to place on young minds which is why I’m supporting @YoungMindsUK in their Missing the Mark campaign.

Their new report lays bare a crisis: 1 in 5 pupils now face mental health issues, and our high-stakes exam system is pushing too many to breaking point.

As a parent, an ex-school Governor and now a politician I fully support their call to shake up the curriculum and public exams, reform SATs, reduce exam pressure, and introduce fairer, modular assessments.
