@khodorkovsky_en@HNeumannMEP@Europarl_EN You mean the way the US sanctions people who oppose them, like a UN Special Rappateur and others who cannot even engage in a normal daily grocery shop let alone have a bank account?
@FT@simonmontefiore Start throwing all Russians in any way connected to Kremlin or government out of the country. Create a new offence - acting in conjunction with foreign powers. Min 5 years. Sell the oil on captured ghost tankers and use money to recycle tankers.
@Tendar@simonmontefiore The fact the Ukrainians can hit a truck on a highway is of interest militarily. Far more interesting is how they knew which truck to hit! Local Russians providing intelligence? Electronic snooping? Something else?
@PaulSchleifer Sometimes a BBC program might not be made because the subject matter is downright boring. Who wants to know Farrage's taste in music? No matter if they really sent him to a lonely desert island!😁
@thetimes To run AI you need massive amounts of electricity, huge servers and special chips.
To run human intelligence, a 3 pound brain, the equivalent of enough to light a dim light bulb in energy. In practice, a salary, desk & laptop and access to toilets. The economics are clear.
For all of those who fear AI, please remember the following. Inside your head is an organ that is far more originally and intuitively intelligent than AI. Unlike AI, it does not need vast resources to run. The brain weighs only about 1.2 to 1.3 kg using the power of a light bulb.
@AlinejadMasih@simonmontefiore@AOC I remember when the Catholic Church insisted on women covering their heads while in a church.
So what? Leave people alone!
UK can combine the solutions to their NEET and low level of defence by creating employment, education & training for all newly enlisted persons so that all leave a 5 year program with a proper qualification and experience. Can stay longer. This will fill the skills gaps.
@KirstieMAllsopp@wesstreeting@BBCr4today This idea of a landlord being a 'passive investor' is just nonsense. Instead, landlords today have to spend money on repairs every year. Every 2 years there will be a slightly bigger job (painting, flooring). 5 years renovation. Also ongoing paperwork (deposits, HMO, inspection)
