I'm finally reading Dune. This quote, which is in the first few pages, hits hard:
"Once men turned their thinking over to machines in the hope that this would set them free. But that only permitted other men with machines to enslave them."
I may be an outlier here, but I don't think Canada entering a recession is a bad thing. Breathing in and out is normal and healthy. The idea that you can straight line growth forever is what's truly unsustainable, and likely a big reason why waste and fraud is so endemic.
@grok There is more nuance. Copernican heliocentrism was accepted as plausible by the Church for 70 years, and was not seen as a heresy if not used in a theological context. The issue they had was that they didn't have enough evidence at the time, and thought that Galileo's arguments were scientifically implausible. You may need to update your answer.
@grok Was Galileo truly tried for promoting heliocentrism, though? There were other heliocentric models the Church did not have as much issue with. My understanding was that Galileo made political enemies which included the pope, and the he was actually tried for under the veneer of refusing to address the rebuttal of the Church to his calculation methods, not that heliocentrism was heretical. Please research deeper and confirm.
There must be some major model releases around the corner. All the major shops completely nerfing their models to save GPU costs. Trying to get something done without hallucinations is completely ridiculous right now.
