I’ve been expecting this but somehow reading it felt even worse than I could have imagined. My heart is sick with grief for my future patients, my colleagues, and women across the country. https://t.co/efBb4OfRxn
It’s been such a blast to complete robotics simulations and get more comfortable with the robot even as a medical student. Thanks so much to @EVMSedu for helping us prepare for residency in such an important way!
Handed out candy yesterday to children in my neighborhood, saw a little girl in a white coat and a stethoscope and said “wow are you a doctor?” She beamed at me and said “yes” to which I replied “I’m a doctor too!” She gives me a blank stare and then, “no, you’re ketchup”
With the holy month of Ramadan quickly approaching here are some points to consider as healthcare providers:
1. How are your Muslim/Fasting patients taking their medications? I.e. are they taking TID meds BID? How can you prescribe meds to ensure proper adherence?
One way I’ve found to cope is by reading for pleasure every night before bed; finding good coping mechanisms and prioritizing sleep has been so important for me during my third year and I don’t think we emphasize this enough in medical education
Just wrapped my IM clerkship; an emotionally difficult one for me. Saw pts die despite getting all the right treatments, pts “bounce back” to the hospital due to social barriers, and pts whose quality of life would never be the same (1)
So proud of my mentor, Dr. Martins, for her incredible work in the area of Fetal Growth Restriction, we are so lucky to have you here at EVMS! @EVMSedu
There is significant variation in the diagnostic criteria used for fetal growth restriction. Get the facts with a summary of SMFM's Consult Series #52 on diagnosis and management of #FGR. @MySMFM

@AbbyBarger18 So proud! Your future colleagues and patients are so blessed to have you, wishing you success, happiness, and fulfillment moving forward in your career 🎉🎉🎉
If I see “enlargement of mucosal folds” or “prominent rugae” in a question, I know the answer is Menetrier disease despite having no clue what Menetrier disease actually is 🤷♀️ #MedTwitter
Practice questions have conditioned me to think that anyone who has ever been in a cave has either rabies or histoplasmosis and there is literally no in between 😂
