Not often 2 and a half minutes can make you feel something this deeply. A preview of a powerful story set to one of my favorite songs.
Glad theaters are open for when this one comes out.

I bought @ladygaga@Oreo cookies as a treat for the family. @danamariewells & I were excited to share them with Jane.
Before I could finish saying who Lady Gaga is, my 4 year old interrupted me to say, "I know. I saw her at Nana's house!" because she watched the inauguration.
A5: Peer to peer book recommendations can be video, calls, brief notes, etc. & enable kids to share their faves & find new books.
Survey Ss for read aloud, shared reading, & lit circle books. & get what they select.
Survey students' interest & faves then recommend.

A4: I love providing sentence starters and a word bank of vocabulary I hear through student discussions. This gives voice to Ss using vocabulary and scaffolds for those trying to use it. Then we use vocab in written expression now that it’s been rehearsed orally #CoreChat
@mssackstein That is totally what I was trying to say! We used to have to copy down a word of the day when I was in 6th grade. It was read from the announcements and we had to write the definition and it was graded! Can’t tell you one word from that list
A3: I don’t miss printed glossaries and copying definitions. I also don’t miss words of the day. These are most often disconnected activities with no context and purpose so Ss never really learn or use the words #CoreChat
