I have been a soccer fan for over 20 years. My favorite team plays in the EPL. I’ve listened to Europeans bitch about FIFA corruption for decades, but as soon as a country has the pull to do something about it, they start crying. They broke their own rules to give him a red, they properly used the rules to reverse it. Any other country would have filed a grievance about that card, we just have a narcissistic buffoon that announces everything on social media to try to take credit. Perhaps, as a result of this, FIFA will start to look at how their horrible officiating put them in this position to start with and the game will improve. As much as I love Balogun, he is not Messi or Ronaldo, so stop crying.

I’m to the point where I wouldn’t vote for anyone associated with Trump in 2028 I’m so upset with how he’s governed, not saying that for a pat on the back, just prefacing.

If you’re an American soccer fan concern trolling about precedent and corruption (the precedent was set and corruption in FIFA started LOOOOOONG before a phone call from the White House to Infantino) just because you hate Trump you’re a fucking loser. Many red card bans have been overturned before this one, including one for Penaldo in this very tournament, but I didn’t see that UEFA statement about “integrity of the game” until this morning.

Flo was challenged from the back and never even saw the Bosnian defender coming, he was playing the ball, it wasn’t even a card on the field, the ref could’ve handed out multiple yellows to Bosnia before then, he used slow motion with VAR which is against the rules to give a ridiculous straight red, the whole thing was fucking bullshit. You want to talk “integrity of the game”? That ref has been investigated for match fixing and FIFA still lets him officiate at the biggest event in sports.

Justice was served and I don’t care how we got there. And if you’re a red blooded American that knows the score on FIFA, you won’t care either. This organization is the most corrupt in sports, if you’re apologizing for us getting our slice of the pie over your hate boner for the president you can’t enjoy anything. This is where his sycophants have a legit point when they talk about “TDS”.
