We are shocked to hear that the Home Office will differentiate among those who seek asylum based on how they travel to this country.
It is inhumane to deny refugees who arrive outside resettlement programmes the right to permanent protection.
Today the 20th member of our #RainbowSisters group for LGBT & non-binary people was granted their leave to remain in the UK!
The asylum process makes it so hard for people who are searching for safety because of their sexuality, so this is a huge milestone for the group! ๐
The Home Office must halt next Wednesday's deportation flight & pause all charter flights until they can prove these do not break equalities law (clue: they can't).
Any airlines involved in deportations must also come clean & rethink their decision.

"The people that we speak to tell us this constantly - that they just cannot manage on this."
This weekend, Jeremy from the Justice & Peace Refugee Project and @TheMercyHub told @bbcnewcastle about the terrible impact that living on ยฃ5.66 a day has on people seeking asylum.
Every day of the #16DaysOfActivism, #StepUpMigrantWomen will be sharing the story of a woman who has struggled for protection because of her immigration status.
Today, Sadia shares a poem:
"Iโm searching for water that will relieve my pain"

It is 47 days since #SeaWatch4 was blocked from saving lives.
It is 40 days since the last NGO ship disembarked rescued people in a place of safety.
The #CentralMed has been empty of SAR capacity for nearly 7 weeks.
At least 152 lives have been lost to the sea in this time.
Women are being locked up indefinitely at #YarlsWood again.
You won't have heard this, because the Home Office didn't announce it. As well as avoiding transparency & accountability, the Home Office tries to make women in detention invisible.
