These stories explore the challenges of moving between countries, establishing oneself in a culture that is not always welcoming, of disillusionment, return to the country of origin, the power of parents & teachers over children & the concept of honour. #India#TheDancingMaharani
@MsAnjaliB I can think of many things more important than money. For example, health, happiness, the love of true friends, integrity, honesty, kindness, power, empathy etc.
@scotgov Please stop sending mixed messages. I am in the vulnerable category and have had to shield from the outset of this cursed virus. Without free tests and paid sick leave, your advice will and is being ignored. Discriminates against disabled people.
@MsAnjaliB Another affirmation could be “looking confident and relaxed, feeling good about myself and ready to deal with whatever the day ahead holds and has in store for me”. Looks can fade and money is a fluid commodity.
@bimcic The Partition of India continues to impact on the lives of millions. The British Government needs to accept its role in the violence that followed. It‘s time to acknowledge the anguish and pain of everybody affected and work towards reconciliation and living in harmony and peace.
Today makes 75 years since the Partition of India. Millions displaced, violence as well as leaving everything behind. There are thousands of stories we will never hear. #PakistanIndependenceDay https://t.co/AJPuO4GYVH

In this week’s Law Society Gazette I have an article about my visit to Armagh Women’s Gaol in Northern Ireland in 1985, to investigate how strip searching was being used. And how in 2006 my experience became a part of the Prisons Memory Archive.
@bobbyfriction Noise pollution is actually a thing that can lead to stress and it has been used as a weapon of torture You need to invest in noise cancelling headphones, Bobby.
@sheriadidthat It’s about knowing where to eat. New Tayyabs and Dishoom for curry, Brick Lane for bagels, Some great Turkish run cafes for cakes, sandwiches and all day breakfasts. Street markets also great . Try around London Bridge.
@MsAnjaliB My parents moved around a lot when I was growing up so I have hometowns in different countries. In India, I guess it would be the food and memories. In the UK, it would be the beautiful architecture, the open spaces and the sea.
