Let me explain exactly why I'm frustrated, @Emirates@EmiratesSupport@elonmusk.
The first time I flew Emirates Business from Vienna to Dubai, the plane had @Starlink. I worked the entire flight ... fast, stable, the best connectivity I've ever had at 38,000 ft. It changed how I see flying. A flight stopped being dead time and became 7 productive hours.
So I kept booking Business. Not for the seat or the champagne. I book it to WORK. My company pays for it for exactly that reason. It's literally called Business Class.
Every flight since: no Starlink. I'm writing this from Vienna to Dubai right now and the wifi is too slow to load a single email. On my 15-hour Brazil to Dubai flight, over 100k points, I couldn't connect at all. Not once.
Here's the real issue: you don't tell me at booking which aircraft have Starlink and which don't. So I can't make an informed choice. I'm paying a premium completely blind, hoping I get the version that lets me do the one thing the cabin is named after. That isn't fair to the customer.
The logic is simple:
I bought Business Class to do business.
I had no way to know the internet wouldn't allow it.
The core thing I paid extra for wasn't delivered.
So I'm not even asking for the full fare back. At minimum, refund the points I used to UPGRADE to Business ... that's the part I paid specifically to be productive, and couldn't use.
@elonmusk has already solved this. The tech works, Emirates has it on some jets. @Emirates please make Starlink standard, disclose it at booking, and refund the upgrade for those of us who got the blind draw. I'd love to stay loyal. Give me a reason to.
