@tcdwww I've seen any elevated Chinese metro segment called as light rail . I used Shanghai Line 6 here as it was the first to come to mind, but any of Beijing Line 13, Shanghai Line 3, Wuhan Line 1, etc fits well too
@a_meow_cat It's theoretically a catch-all term for modes with a higher capacity than streetcars but lower than a regular metro, rather than for a specific type of vehicle. Which easily lets it be abused.
@JRUrbaneNetwork Have CR regional lines actually been called light rail by some Chinese railfans before? I was gonna add it here, but not sure. Wouldn’t be surprised though, going by the “any elevated urban rail is light rail” thing they use
@chonchie_DAK 5 of them are officially called light rail in their systems. But I heard all types (and equivalents) called light rail in some press releases before
How cleanly shoveled the sidewalk is after a snowstorm is a great way to tell if an apartment company or frat house are aholes or not
(yes looking at you, blue roof building)
Another signage thing I appreciate: signing which side of the platform is for which direction before you reach the bottom of the escalator. Never seen this in other Chinese metros.
