Research: Salivary immunity and lower respiratory tract infections in non-elite marathon runners
Would love to have more context about this @pedlarcr any thoughts? Specifically around those doibg backyard marathons & potentially putting themselves at risk https://t.co/qMRVYzx82H
It’s been a crazy 24 hours, and what with Tom doing his final laps on @BBCBreakfast and @GMB tomorrow, we expect tomorrow to be just as crazy.
Thanks for all your support, and to @KyleBlade1 for this fantastic drawing of our Captain.
Night - see you all in the morning 💕🌈
@gpwhyte@UKActive @basesuk @Sport_England@uk_sport@TheSportsSphere@ACSMNews I would contest this in the case of chronically stressed individuals. It’s dose dependant. Physical activity yes. Hi intensity/vol exercise that leads to physiological and specifically respiratory stress is a bad idea. Clarification of PA Vs exercise as well as dose needed.
Are you self employed and need financial support for to Coronavirus? I've bashed out a rough and ready quick video briefing...
Feel free to share with anyone who needs.
In this study of 1200 runners 570 had an injury and 86% continued to run despite of it. Running experience of over 2 years was protective https://t.co/7utw3qzSHF

How much exercise do we need to feel the mental health benefit?
I chat to physiotherapist @BrendonStubbs about how just 10 minutes of light activity a day can result in meaningful changes happening within your brain.

@ElliottSale I personally use the apps @fitrwoman fitrwoman & HRV4training for my own training & with clients. They don’t dictate training. But serve as a timely remider to adapt rest, recovery, nutrition and training to individuals and not be slave to plans.
@ElliottSale I’m all for debate but it’s hard to follow it all here in Twitter. You say women should listen to their body. But you also argue robust scientific papers should be used to direct coaching. This is why coaches get annoyed with science & historically record data and coach N=1
@ElliottSale Fascinating thread. Firstly @ElliottSale I’m baffled...with 20 yrs experience why haven’t you read Roar (work of a peer when it focuses exactly on the topic you’re highly critical about?). Then you can give us your informed opinion
