A while ago I read a piece in the NYT that denigrated my home. It posited that the hillbillies of Tennessee will soon have their voices silenced by an influx of coastals migrating to Nashville.
This is a kind of op-Ed I wrote, and a history of my home.

Ole Miss, I know we feel some type of way. And rightfully so. Theres alot of speculation, but most of us were not in the room while things were being discussed. Need to remember this man has kids, and putting things out about his personal character just isn't it. Ultimately we're mad because he didn't make the decision we wanted him to make for him, his family and his future. Who are we to make that determination. Let's move on, control what we can control, and finish this historic season out.
Thank you Lane Kiffin @Lane_Kiffin
Lane Kiffin isn’t the enemy here. The calendar in College Football is. It’s an absolute joke. Fix this crap NCAA. Playoffs, National Signing Day, Transfer Portal, all within the same month time frame. Just straight stupid!
He is clearly struggling with the ethics and the strain between his love for his team and what’s best for his career. Maybe give the a guy a little grace. It’s not an easy spot to be in.
Social media distills real life into a soap opera - like a WWE match with a hero and a villain.
90% of you would step over your neighbors corpse for a shot at $12m a year. Lane is in a tough spot. He has every right to ply his trade somewhere other than Oxford next year.
Out of all the Tennessee QBs after 2003
Erik Ainge
Jonathan Crompton
Tyler Bray
Josh Dobbs
Justin Worley
Quinten Dormady
Jarrett Guarantano
Brian Maurer
Harrison Bailey
Joe Milton
Hendon Hooker
Nico Iamaleava
Joey Aguilar is the one that wins in the Swamp
NEW: Urban Meyer on Nico Iamaleava's departure:
“Tennessee is screwed. They got a problem.
...Everybody’s saying, ‘Nice job Tennessee, making a stand.’ I’ve got a little comment on that. Tennessee plays Florida usually every year in October.
Can you imagine that game’s going the other way and coach Heupel grabs the microphone and stands on the 50-yard line in Neyland Stadium and says, ‘It’s OK, I made a stand way back when.'”

Things Josh Heupel has done in 5 seasons at Tennessee
- beat Saban (Alabama twice)
- beat Florida three times
— snapped the Swamp streak
- beat LSU in Baton Rouge
- snapped the Arkansas curse
The 2.5 things he hasn’t done yet:
- beat Georgia (and in Athens)
- win in Tuscaloosa
We’ve been involved in many military engagements since WWII for a multitude of reasons: domino theory, humanitarian obligation, cheap oil etc.
Destroying the narco terrorists pumping fentanyl into our country is the most justified military action we’ve taken in 80 years.
Palantir, $PLTR, CEO: “If fentanyl was killing 60,000 Yale grads instead of 60,000 working class people, we’d be dropping a nuclear bomb on whoever was sending it from South America."
Sen. Ted Cruz, Texas Republican, is urging conservatives to confront squarely rising antisemitism on the right by naming names - including that of Tucker Carlson. https://t.co/8n46OUPcVK
Nick Fuentes, “it was December 18th I remember because that’s an important date to me.”
Tucker Carlson: “Why?”
Nick: “It’s Joseph Stalin’s birthday. I’m a fan.”
Tucker: “You’re a fan of Stalin?”
Nick: “Mhmm (with an evil little smile).”
No follow up questions. No outrage. Nothing to see here.
All part of the plan.
This one isn't like UGA or Bama losses, where you made plenty of mistakes, but still arguably lost to (marginally) better/more talented teams.
Tonight didn't feel like that in the least. Flat out wasted opportunity in an incredible college football environment.
LSU has three titles this century, two of them with moron head coaches. It’s the best job in the country. Tennessee has been abysmal for most of this century. There is 0 comparison
Brian Kelly was fired at LSU with a record of 34-14
Josh Heupel over the same timeframe is 36-11
I think Heupel has done an amazing job turning this program around, but the expectations from the fanbase need to dramatically increase. We have the second largest budget behind Texas. It’s time to demand being elite and stop settling for 9-10 wins.
Thanks, Andrew.
I’ve spoken with the President of UT. The student advisory group voted to deny but that has ZERO to do with approval.
*Turning Point will be approved for the UTC campus.
TP has a huge presence at UTK and we hope for the same success in Chattanooga.
Reach out to me directly if you have additional questions or run in to any further obstacles.
Thankful for you and TP team.
