The WNBA is backed into a corner.

Enes Kanter Freedom and Royce White accomplished exactly what they intended.

This was never about playing in the WNBA.

They’ve forced the league into the question it doesn’t want to answer:

What is a woman?

The WNBA’s CBA says women only.

Now the W says Enes and Royce are NOT eligible.

Ok. Why?

You can’t simultaneously say:

1. Only women can play.
2. These two declared women cannot play.
3. We’re won’t articulate why.

Calling it a “publicity stunt” or trolling doesn’t answer the question.

Those are distractions from the governing issue: What makes someone a woman in the WNBA?

They must articulate the standard.

But… They can’t, without pissing off the LGBTQ.
They wanna keep it vague and unaddressed.

That’s why they’re trapped.

The WNBA wants Enes and Royce to disappear — because the question disappears too.

I hope they keep making noise.

When you create a category and restrict participation to that category, someone will force you to define the category.

You cannot have a boundary, while refusing to explain where the boundary is.

If they refuse to budge, Royce and Enes have them cornered.

UPDATE: I have not received any official or unofficial communication back from the WNBA regarding my eligibility. I will say as a Black Trans lesbian, the rumors of denial for my multi-spirit existence are concerning. I’d also like to remind everyone there is a Trans genocide taking place right now in America. These kind of casual comments lead to violence and our deaths.

If the “sources” are true, I would like to see the league take immediate action to correct anybody who refuses to affirm my identity or use my pronouns pay/me. The WNBA leadership has to show up and 👏🏽 do 👏🏽 the 👏🏽 work. To tell a Black Trans woman she is not a woman or that the Trans experience is a “stunt”, is transphobic, bigoted and racist. It’s literally nazism and white supremacy. I think the commissioner may be demonstrating some white privilege, no? 🧔🏽‍♀️🏳️‍⚧️
