While we’re on the topic of Antman can we talk about how bizarre it is that no MCU Antman suit has ever had the antennae?
Like the weird war wings are not antenna, it’s so lame
I saw a test screening of Supergirl back in January.
And I can tell you for a fact that this isn’t an Ayer Cut or Snyder Cut situation at all.
There was maybe a scene or two that they should have kept in and the krypton scenes were structured differently throughout the film.
The film also ended with Kara flying off in her ship to “Dreaming” by Blondie.
So that post credit scene that was initially talked about by Gillespie was absolutely that Superman apartment scene.
But outside of that, there’s really nothing that could’ve been added or changed that would have improved the overall reception to the film in any meaningful way.
If they put out Gillespie‘s cut, the people who liked/loved Supergirl still would’ve liked it. But if you didn’t like Supergirl or thought it was just mediocre, the Gillespie cut would not have changed your mind in the slightest.
Craig Gillespie simply did not deliver.
I firmly believe Craig Gillespie remains proud of what he released to the world, and he's clearly willing to promote the film for what it is. At the end of the day, it's still very much a Craig Gillespie film, and I just think people are exaggerating the creative differences between him and Gunn to create drama that probably wasn't nearly as intense behind the scenes as Twitter wants it to be.
It's a bummer that Supergirl didn't turn out the way most of us hoped, but sometimes a movie simply doesn't fully come together, and that doesn't automatically mean there was some massive behind-the-scenes war or that the director lost control of his own film. Maybe Gillespie just wasn't the right director for this particular material, which could explain why his original cut reportedly struggled and the producers felt the need to step in. And I say that as someone who actually likes quite a lot of his movies.
I don't think y'all actually read the article cause, It literally says the OG cut tested poorly enough that Gunn and Safran stepped in and made their own cut. The "Craig cut" wasn't some hidden masterpiece based on what THR reported LOL
If I saw the Gillespie cut, which sounds likely based on this newest report, it was not substantially different as I said before but different enough. The 11 minutes did improve the pacing, however, which can honestly make or break a movie at times.
I also think it’s a disservice to Ayer and Zack by comparing what happened to Craig.
There weren’t major rewrites or reshoots. Slater worked alongside Ana over the additional photography. THR states the 11 minutes “while more” was not quite effectively different.
In The Flash (2023)
During the Man of Steel flashback scene of Barry saving lives in Metropolis
Andy Muschietti had the same Flash symbol from the BVS email on the chest.
This explains how Lex knew the Flash symbol during BVS.
i don't hate the song like others do but you just couldn't go wrong with Call Me
What Becomes of The Brokenhearted would have fit so WELL with the slowed down pace from Rutheye's POV
Like cmon bro, how do you cook with the trailer songs but pick a worse one for the film 😭
