I detest money-centeredness in dating discourse so much because heathy relationships are built on everyday unbuyable moments like inside jokes, support during a loss, praise during a win, the idea of feeling safe, valued and happy around your loved ones, etc). Yes money is important but you people make it seem like it’s the pinnacle. It’s not
Not to sound delusional, but please pray for grace. Life isn't really about hard work. It's more about meeting the right people, grace, mercy, and favour.
@LFCApproved So many people are actually not as smart as we think. Clearly you can make a case against the manager, but telling me that sacking him will improve this squad is pathetic. We simply do not have good defenders, as evidenced from last season.
@GraemeKelly1 Some of the defending from the tail end of last season is so bad. I agree with you on the manager moving on, but i just can't see how he's at fault for some of this defending. Robertson heads that ball, and we probably would've won.
Anyone with a functioning brain knows this is the truth, because tell me how on earth Slot is to blame for what Robertson and your captain could not handle?
Maybe the players just ain’t capable of playing to how the manager asks.
The downfall started in February last year when he felt safe adding his style to the club, it wasn’t working and still hasn’t worked.
That’s completely fine but, what isn’t is the fact the club are allowing it to continue.
Find a man who can work with these players.
Three points is all that matters but if Maguire had been sent off and a penalty given against us for what that Palace defender did there'd be uproar. Fair play to Cunha but that's never a foul or a penalty and it gets less of one the more you see it. VAR really is crap
Slot can be blamed a bit however:
- He’s having to manage the minutes of our only fit 9, our only fit RB and an injury to our 3rd choice CB
- I was convinced we were winning until Virgil shat the bed for the first goal, game plan worked brilliantly
- He was demanding the players to kick the ball out for the 3rd
- His sub of Rio helped win the free kick to get us back in the game but meant we threw the kitchen sink
- He cannot come on the pitch to head away long throws for our 6’4 Captain
- The players were knackered from chasing the game because we went behind down to player mistakes
If Virgil doesn’t make that mistake, if Salah could do alright with his 100 chances at 1v1s, if Mac Allister wasn’t crocked, if Alisson played to half his ability from 3 seasons ago we’d have won. The senior pros have let this manager down all season long, so have the board.
All that being said, he has to go as well, just don’t think he was the issue yesterday.
Since full time all I’ve seen across social media is people calling for Slot to be sacked and to be honest I just don’t get it.
I can of course understand wanting Slot gone for the accumulation of poor results, but I’m not sure he was at fault more than the players today…
For the first time in a while I don’t blame Slot for this. Just a collection of dozy old bastards (VVD and Alisson) and a 33 year old forward who was clean through twice at 0-0 and couldn’t outsprint slow defenders
Was waiting for someone to blame the manager again as usual, when your captain aura could just clear the ball, and also kept Jimenez onside but yeah it's all Slot's fault.
It will get lost tonight because of Van Dijk’s mistake and the fiasco leading up the second goal but Slot continues to stick with his passive OOP principles. Two days after doing the right things against Marseille. There are profiles issues, most certainly, but Slot has become a negative manager and that’s not acceptable. #LFC
Liverpool somehow manage to leave themselves desperately exposed when they lose the ball without actually taking any risks when they have it. It’s amazing.
On a day where Jürgen Klopp would have played the likes of Ramsay, Nyoni and Danns while also cruising to victory, Arne Slot didn’t.
He played the first team and relied on three screamers to beat Barnsley, who are 17th in the THIRD division of England.
He made rubbish substitutions again and didn’t give any minutes to youth, other than Ngumoha.
Didn’t get the crowd going like Klopp would have either.
No resting the necessary senior players.
Get him gone, he’s not it.
Xabi Alonso’s now right there. Do it.
I'm not behind Slot. If his sacking is in the best interest of the team, then fine. But this narrative that he has lost the dressing room, which is why we have been poor, is just utter nonsense.
So Mac Allister and VVD playing so poorly is because of the manager? LOL!
