@ZaStocks But how do you know you have a real loser on your hands? I’ve cut when something is down 30%, only to see it run up 300% in the years following.
@Steven_Hyden Agreed @Steven_Hyden ! I think it gets better and better too. And if you haven’t seen it, check out “The Patriot” series on Prime. From a years back. Same showrunner and team. Only 2 seasons.
I think you’ll really dig it..
@exlarson Hey Erik! There’s a new limited series on Netflix called “Death by Lightning” about politics in the 1800’s that I thought you’d really enjoy. Only 4 episodes too. Just a heads up :)
@DVNJr Hi @DVNJr I’ve been a SLR subscriber for a long time, so thank you so much for all the work you put into it! I really enjoyed Deliver me from Nowhere. It’s not perfect, but will be important and eye-opening for many I imagine. I can’t wait to see it again. Hope you enjoy it too!
@Steven_Hyden@Steven_Hyden I thought that was very telling, just in regards to the stories he’s interested in telling. I’m glad he told this one. And I’m no pro critic, and love reading your work, so can’t wait for you to see it and to read and hear your thoughts about it!
@Steven_Hyden@Steven_Hyden There was a Q&A with Scott Cooper and Jeremy Allen White afterward. They were humble and honored, and Scott said he wasn’t interested in making the usually biopic. He said if he ever made a movie about Elvis, it would be about the last day of Elvis’ life.
@Steven_Hyden@Steven_Hyden But it had ne in tears many times throughout, and I thought it was a beautiful movie. I’m sure many folks who don’t know a lot about Bruce will be surprised since it’s not a “rock star movie,” but just as many who come in unawares will be quite moved by this story.
@Steven_Hyden@Steven_Hyden Of course it’s not perfect. It was quite serious, and I wish there had been more scenes involving creating the album and the writing of the songs. 2 hours didn’t feel long enough. And the sound in this theater (which is not made for movies) perhaps wasn’t optimal.
@Steven_Hyden@Steven_Hyden I don’t know what your friend was expecting, but at its heart this was a story about mental health, a son’s relationship with his father, artistic freedom, and the friendship between Bruce and Jon. Jeremy Strong was so damn good I thought. And funny.
