I hit a React Native performance wall building a workout feed.
Each card needed a route preview, so my first pass was simple:
Embed a MapView in every row and let FlashList handle the scrolling.
Reasonable idea.
Didn’t scale.
First sale today.
It’s not about the amount. It’s the feeling that someone I’ve never met found enough value in something I built to pay for it.
Started as an idea, turned into late nights, bugs, iterations, and a lot of second-guessing.
Small milestone. Back to building 🚀
Lived long enough to see a MacBook become the value option.
Better build. More RAM. Bigger SSD. Faster chip. Lower price.
We really are in the weird timeline.
Been using Apple Watch for running for a while, but I always found it annoying to quickly see my PR progress across different distances.
I wanted something simple:
• yearly PRs vs all-time PRs
• compare progress between years
• see achievements at a glance
So I ended up building my own app: PR Atlas 🏃
Works best with Apple Watch, but any running app that syncs with Apple Health is supported too.
Back from a long hibernation
Apple finally let me into the Developer Program, which means I can now officially pay $99/year to create bugs for iPhone users.
Time to be back.
