I just followed a link to read a post in the app formerly (and currently) known as Twitter, and then found myself clicking on the big X at the top of the page to get out of it. Hmmm…
@fjania Loved APL when I first learned it at Penn and then used it as one of main languages at Merrill. The power to do so much with arrays and matrices in a single line of code, and the way you learned to recognize idioms and patterns in the code.
@lauraklein Friend and colleague @hbstrub did doctoral work around the notion of "Cognitive Customizations" - things end-user consumers can do with pens, paint, stickers etc. to modify devices to address problems with their interfaces. Here's what I'd do to make this more usable.

@KSchultz3580 Here's a thought on what the CDC should have recommended, incorporating community data - and natural-consequence community incentives: https://t.co/ieVbTIwtcy
How to improve mask recommendations with community data, and one question that would make testing data more informative. https://t.co/ieVbTIwtcy @CDCgov@CDCDirector
@yudapearl Thanks much for sharing the chapter I coauthored with @shruthichari, @oshaniws and @dlmcguinness. Our user-centric view points to value of AI explanations beyond establishing trust. They contribute to joint model building and effective shared cognition.
Glad to finally see a paper on "explainability" https://t.co/mEwdpGbnMx that explains why explainability cannot be achieved through data-centric
thinking, but requires world knowledge about what is to be explained.
Major fail. Signed up online at #cvs for a #FluShot yesterday, reserved a slot, got email confirmation. Received a text reminder this morning with a link to check in. But after driving over and checking in, was told they were out of supplies and could not do it. #fail
🎙️Super excited to launch a new project with @dweinberger! “Tic-Tac-Toe the Hard Way” is a 9 episode introductory podcast about the human choices that go into making machine learning systems. More at https://t.co/HtoSVoGWNN
@tafsiri@dweinberger This is great, Yannick, and on a personal level, so cool to hear your voice again and be reminded of your wise and nuanced approach to technology.
@vrbo says they will not offer refunds for cancellations due to the coronavirus, while AIRBNB says they will. VRBO says they are an Expedia Company -- some deep pockets there. If they don't modify this policy, I know which companies I will avoid booking with in the future.
@kelleratlarge I'll miss hearing you on the radio, Jon! I always valued your wisdom and perspective, and learned much about Boston and politics by listening to you.
So, Echo buds are for sale and have been shipping from #Amazon, yet the site won't allow reviews because "this item has not been released yet." So no customer reviews. #echobuds
