This afternoon @Diaspora_KE PS @roselinenjogu hosted a delegation of students from the US on a Kenya Cultural Diplomacy Initiative (KCDI) through the Global Connections Kenya (GCK) led by its Founder and CEO @dangwenyi.
The program by GCK aims to cultivate international relationships and promote educational diplomacy by giving students in the US an opportunity to experience cultural exchange, tourism and education. GCK said reciprocal exchange programmes targeting Kenyan students will be rolled out soon.
During the discussions, the focus was on exploring potential areas of collaboration and recognizing the significance of cultural diplomacy in maintaining strong connections with Kenyans in the diaspora and their heritage.
On their part, the students expressed their appreciation for the chance to experience diverse cultural aspects such as food, language, fashion and literature, giving them a new perspective on different ways of life.
PS @roselinenjogu further highlighted the mandate of @Diaspora_KE and how the diaspora can also get involved in National Development through knowledge and technological transfer.
Iβm excited to announce that Global Connections Kenya (GCK) and University of Nairobi Department of Diplomacy and International Studies have signed an MOU to implement the Kenya Cultural Diplomacy Initiative (KCDI). We will be unveiling more details in the coming weeks.
The beautiful flowers from plants emerging from a bitterly cold winter reminded me of the resilience of the human spirit and ability to emerge stronger. The challenges the world is dealing with today will pass. Now is the time to stay focused on innovative ideas without wavering.
My son Jonathan tells me VR (Virtual Reality) is the new reality, and in it, no need to stay six feet apart because you have to be alone in your own guarded space. I am enjoying them for sure, I am wondering if VR cars should become a reality sooner than 2050 for everyone!
Happy New Year 2021! We have an opportunity to start fresh by acknowledging our ability to conquer challenges we refused to confront because we felt powerless and gave in to lies on basic facts. We are better people when we love all humanity and treat everyone with dignity.
The snow, with all itβs inconvenience to travel and work, has a new significance this year, a signal that perhaps we will soon return to some sort of normalcy, now that we have COVID-19 vaccine and a new historic Government on the horizon.
A great moment in history to move forward in a manner that brings everyone together and shine light on the best of humanity. Congratulations President Elect Joe Biden and V-President Elect Kamala Harris.
Congratulations class of 2020 at HVCHS on your graduation. As an educator, I am proud of your accomplishments. You are a unique class that would always be in history books. Importantly, you are now at the center of a conversation on making sure we have racial equity and justice.
Today, I want to congratulate our HV-CHS class of 2020 as they graduate high school. We are proud of them and we know they are part of a solution to a future of a world where racial equity is the norm. Best wishes and know that we are proud of your achievements.
The silence on racial injustices that have gone on for so long must stop! Now is time to focus on flattening the racism curve so every person is treated equal under the law and with the human dignity we all deserve.
RIP Kobe Bryant! Your life was an inspiration on how you played basketball. In this world, we are all on a short journey with unknown date of arrival, so we should use our talents to make the world a better place. You will be missed!
