So... While I really liked Metro 2033, and enjoyed Last Light even more... I absolutely loved Metro Exodus. The open world areas worked perfectly with the story. I am honestly so very excited to read the Dmitry Glukhovsky novels!
So while I'm posting about Metro (which all three games were on sale like a week ago, which I now don't think is a coincidence) I checked to see updates on STALKER 2, and see the STALKER games have been re-released on console!

Hands down Roadside Picnic is one of my favorite pieces of Russian literature... I mean most ruslit I've read is bleak and heartbreakingly fatalistic. Which... Works PERFECTLY for post apocalyptic world building and storytelling!
I never finished STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl on PC because the first time I made it to a specific point it literally crashed and corrupted my save game after putting DAYS of playtime into it. But it got me to read Roadside Picnic by Boris Strugatsky.
Moved immediately on to Metro Exodus. Sweet fuck... this is the love child I wanted between Metro 2033 and STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl (the only STALKER game I've played, and never finished... but loved immensely!)
I anjoyed Metro Last Light Redux immensely! It did expand quite a bit on the first game, and even though it felt... MAYBE twice as long none of it felt elongated for the sake of just adding crap.
I just finished Metro 2033 Redux, I absolutely loved it, gave big Russian Half-Life/Roadside Picnic vibes. I see a lot of other people that said it was too short. I would argue it's tight... Which makes sense you're surviving in the metro. Want to read the book now.
Random thought: Yes @Schwarzenegger is THE Terminator, but I have to say that @garretdillahunt and Shirley Manson surprised me (when I was EXTREMELY skeptical of TSCC) and absolutely nailed top 3 after the big guy himself.
About the only thing I agree with critically is the micro transactions (but it was all cosmetics), and bullet sponge game mechanics in Youngblood... What Wolfenstein game didn't have that?! As a first outing for a co-op/multi-player Wolfenstein it was badass and still is.
Been playing Wolfenstein since 3D (and remember getting it as shareware on 5.25" floppy for my Tandy 1000SL, and Youngblood stands out as probably my 3rd/4th fave Wolf game. The levels and character art is dope af.
It still bothers me how MAGAts turned out in full force to shit on @wolfenstein Youngblood as being "woke" and a terrible game. Legitimately just reinstalled that yesterday and still enjoy the hell out of it!
Legitmately @larianstudios have crafted one of the finest gaming experiences I've had in the last DECADE, and I can't help but go through my day without imagining @AmeliaTyler narrate my silly little life outside of BG3.
