You have a purpose. There’s something for you to do. You have an assignment; somebody needs what you have. Somebody needs your love, somebody needs your smile, somebody needs your gifts.
One of the most confusing parts about being raised by narcissistic parents is that we learn that our role is to: achieve, appease, or perform. There’s such confusion when we reach adulthood because we don’t know who we truly are.
HERE’S WHY 🧵:
If you constantly give of yourself and are repeatedly taken advantage of, the burden lies on your shoulders to create boundaries and stick to them. It’s far more difficult than it seems but also extremely rewarding in gaining quality of life.
Life humbles you. As you grow old, you stop chasing the big things and start valuing the little things. Alone time, enough sleep, a good diet, long walks, and quality time with loved ones. Simplicity becomes the ultimate goal.
buy yourself flowers. eat healthy. drink water. use hair oils. study hard. workout regularly. find a good skincare routine. trim the dead ends of your hair. read more books. learn a new skill. find a new hobby. give yourself the life you deserve.
It’s not selfish to take time for you. You need time to get refreshed, to reenergize. You shouldn’t be so busy that you don’t have time to be alone, time to laugh, time to exercise. You need recreation. You need things that keep you in balance.
Sometimes the best thing you can do is not think, not wonder, not imagine, not obsess. Just breathe, and have faith that everything will work out for the best.
here’s a reminder that if God created all of Heaven and earth in six days, He can change your life around in one. God has the ability to do the things we can only dream of. stay hopeful sis.
