I have some news to share. This week (after almost 4 years) I said goodbye to my little corner of Boren Labs and to all my wonderful colleagues at Tune Tx to embark on a new adventure.
The time we spent together building Tune Tx will forever be a special period in my life. Across two sites, we built out labs, spent time together during a pandemic, moved labs, started up a variety of programs, recruited new leadership, narrowed our focus, and carried on the mission to bring epi-editing (soon) to patients.
It was an intense period of growth for many of us as we navigated building a biotech during such a dynamic time. It was also when I learned what it means to be a new mother and all that comes with it.
Through it all - this team, my coworkers, friends, confidants, and scientific trailblazers - have been a guiding force and light. It is such an incredible team and one that I am truly sad to leave. And the science is second to none. I am so proud of the progress we have made together to advance epi-editing.
But, I have always felt called to find spaces where my skillset can have increased impact. Now, the time has come to build something new, something entirely different, something more radical and patient-facing. I'll share more on that soon. For now, I leave you with a quote I wrote on our whiteboard at Tune, a quote that I felt was true for us during this time. May we all be so lucky to work on a team like this.
Better we raise our skill than lower the climb.

New preprint on scGPT: first foundation large language model for single cell biology, pretrained on 10 million cells.
Just as text is made of words, cells are characterized by genes
Some thoughts on how cool this is & why it challenges the status quo of single cell analysis🧵🧵
here comes WebAtlas: our "Google Maps" for tissue atlases with integrated single cell and spatial transcriptomics so anyone & anywhere can access/explore atlas datasets on a web browser. Fantastic collab with @Muzz_Haniffa, led by @BioinfoTongLI@Dave_Horsfall & Daniela. Links 👇
The time is now. We can collaboratively build the digital representation of human biology.
The amount of exponentially accumulated knowledge and the state of neuro-symbolic models that allow knowledge interpolation just surpassed the threshold.

Every aspect of these are customisable. Width, thickness, colour, arrows / no arrows, cylinders.
In love with the final result. Done entirely within #GeometryNodes and #Blender3d
#MolecularNodes v2.5 is out, which adds support for importing Electron Microscopy densities into #blender3d as volumetric objects that work with #GeometryNodes. This is 6OGD / EMDB 20053 solved by @PiperProteins / @SarahJ_Piper
