🏪 Today, Netstars successfully completed its Stablecoin Pay in-store payment trial at Lawson Ōsaki Nakaniwa Store in Tokyo, Japan! 🇯🇵

The trial connected Lawson’s existing POS system with Netstars’ StarPay payment gateway, enabling $USDC, $USDT, and $JPYC stablecoin payments through MetaMask. USDC and USDT payments were tested across the Solana, Morph, and Polygon networks, while JPYC payments were verified on Polygon.

🌈 From product checkout and wallet scanning to payment confirmation, Stablecoin Pay completed the full in-store payment flow. During the on-site demonstration, the QR payment process was completed in approximately 5 seconds from scanning to confirmation, showcasing the potential of stablecoin payments in high-frequency retail environments.

The trial evaluated key factors including POS integration, payment processing time, wallet usability, and impact on store operations. It demonstrated how stablecoin payments can be integrated into existing retail payment infrastructure without requiring changes to merchants’ current checkout processes.

Polygon Brings Stablecoin Payments Closer To Japan's Stores

Lawson, one of Japan's largest convenience store chains, has completed its second stablecoin payment test at a physical store in Japan.

The trial used USDC, USDT, and JPYC through Netstars' StarPay system.

USDC and USDT were tested across Solana (@solana), Morph (@MorphNetwork), and Polygon (@0xPolygon). JPYC was tested on Polygon, with MetaMask used as the compatible wallet.

The test focused on payment speed, user experience, and existing store operations.
