Doug was a giant. And the legacy he leaves is no different. He inspired this foundation, and as the CEO, led it with such grace. If you ever have the opportunity to adopt a senior dog, do it. The grief is never-ending, but so is the love. We won’t let you down, Douggy ❤️🩹
Doug passed away Tuesday afternoon. He could no longer walk on his own and he told us it was time. He went so peacefully. He felt no pain. The sun was shining.
It was such an honor to be Doug's person. He taught me infinitely more than I taught him. I adopted him knowing he wouldn't be with me long, and I'm so incredibly grateful we got 3 years. We made the most of them.
Doug's presence had such a weight to it. He was impossible to ignore for many reasons, his size only one of them. I told him the foundation he inspired will help dogs well beyond his time here. I think he always thought that was pretty cool.
You're stardust again, Douggy. Come back to me in whatever form you like. I'll know it's you. And to whoever is with him now, please give him your love. He gave so much of his. 15/10 ❤️
I said goodbye today to River, who most of you know as Fallout 4’s Dogmeat.
Heartbroken doesn't cover it, but I won’t eulogize her here. For twitter, I thought it'd be appropriate to look back at her impact on that game.
(plus, writing about game dev hurts less than grieving)
This is Van Gogh. He used to be a bait dog, which is how he lost an ear and got his name. While looking for a forever family, he learned to paint to attract potential adopters. His strategy worked, and now he sells his art to benefit his old rescue. 14/10 let's h*ckin gogh
