I personally don’t agree with Movistar not nominating Quintana for the La Vuelta, which would’ve been his last Grand Tour and the last ever professional bike race.

He has done so much for this team that I feel he deserved the tribute of finishing his career with a Grand Tour he wanted to attend. His final Vuelta showing would’ve been far more memorable than watching some other rider go in a few breakaways.

I understand that teams are paying riders for good results, but Quintana wasn’t exactly bad either, he finished 18th in Burgos last week, for example.

And not everything in cycling is about results. Sometimes, showing appreciation to your legendary rider means even more. 🇨🇴 #LaVuelta26
