I shared my thoughts on the subject of nation-building in the context of Nigeria, and its importance in the journey to the New Nigeria we all desire in this article published on @bellanaija

“We are hardpressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, not destroyed, always carrying about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our body.” 2 Corin 4:8-10

Now that the congratulations have whistled down a little, let me give some context. (Read to the end.)
A regular Master’s can cost anywhere from €1,000 to €20,000+ a year, depending on the country and school. An MBA is a completely different beast.
My IESE MBA costs €114,000 in tuition alone. About ₦185 million.
That’s why many scholarships that fully fund regular Master’s programmes (tuition, living expenses, travel, etc.) either cap their MBA funding or exclude MBAs altogether.
Chevening, for example, provides funding for Master’s programmes, but caps its MBA tuition contribution at £22,000.
Erasmus Mundus specifically funds Joint Master’s programmes, not MBAs. (don’t wreck them 😅)
So when you see someone willing to put over €100,000 into your education, it is a BIG deal.
And when I said I received a 100% scholarship to IESE, I meant exactly that. My scholarship covers 100% of my €114,000 tuition fee.
What it doesn’t cover, however, is my living expenses. So I’m sorting out rent, food and everything else myself.
Which brings us back to my “Blessing Private Placement” exercise from months ago. You remember? 😅
Yes, people actually subscribed.
That was largely to help me fund the living-expense side of this journey. A number of people here have known about my MBA since then because I privately sent them my proposal.
I haven’t completely figured out the living-expense part yet, but I’m positive I will.
The hardest part has been solved. I got here, and my tuition is fully covered. Now I’m just figuring out how to live here.
And since it’s public now, I feel comfortable attaching the original fundraising exercise for anyone who wants to see it, laugh at the audacity of it all 😅, or feels compelled to add their quota.

A month ago, I started my MBA at IESE Business school on a 100% tuition scholarship. 🚀
I can’t put into words how daunting the process was. I simply can’t. I’ve lost so much of myself, but I’ve also gained so much.
For the next 19 months, you’ll hear a lot about my rantings. Na all of us gather dey do this MBA. Probably too early to say this, but an MBA will stretch you. My God!!!!
And as usual, my mantra is giving back. So, for anyone who is willing to take this step, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’m happy to offer helpful tips, as my schedule permits. Just send a DM, with a plan!
It took a community. ❤️
I miss home so badly and believe it or not, I can’t wait to be back.
But for now… Barcelona, aquí estoy. 🇪🇸
EP 1 of #PromisesToPolicies is about the conversation around fuel subsidy. What have some candidates promised? What questions should we be asking instead?
See you next week.
He’s the next governor because he will win the election; we’re talking about a structure built on nearly three decades of grassroots penetration and political patronage. You can’t beat that in four months.
Hating on people that still decide to stick to their religion that is not in anyway affecting your own way of life is a sign of low IQ. It’s even worse when you go to their page to cuss them, you look silly.
